Our Barley is the first core range release from Lochlea Distillery in Ayrshire, following its earlier seasonal bottlings. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
The whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry casks and STR barriques.
The nose is pear syrup, fruit bon bons, warm cut grass and marmalade. The palate brings golden syrup, pepper, rye bread, macadamia nuts and cream soda, and the finish is long, with a lasting orange beeswax note.
