Lochlea – Our Barley

Lochlea Our Barley is a Scotch single malt matured in three types of cask, split in equal thirds: first-fill bourbon, first-fill oloroso sherry and STR casks. STR stands for shaved, toasted and re-charred. The cask is shaved on the inside and then toasted and charred again, which brings sweet notes of fruit and caramel. The nose is fresh malt like digestive biscuits, heather honey and pears. The palate offers pickled pears, vanilla, shortbread and good wood, and the finish is creamy and malty with a hint of white pepper.
