Lochlea Our Barley is a Lowland single malt Scotch whisky from the Lochlea Distillery, founded by John Campbell, a former manager at Laphroaig. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is matured in three kinds of cask: ex-bourbon, ex-oloroso sherry and ex-red wine casks of the STR type, where the staves are shaved, toasted and re-charred.
The nose offers dried fruit, apple, vanilla and flowers. The palate is rich, with caramel and vanilla, light toasting and gentle spice behind. The finish is of medium length, with pastry and buttery biscuit notes.
