Lochlea Over and Stout is a Lowland single malt from the family-run Lochlea Distillery in Ayrshire, made in collaboration with Glasgow's Overtone Brewery. It is the second and final Overtone release, married from five casks: three stout-seasoned (two Bourbon barrels and one STR barrique), one first fill Bourbon barrel and one ex-peated Bourbon barrel.
Bottled at 52% ABV with natural colour and no chill filtration, it yielded 1,500 bottles.
The nose is rich, with sweet stout, light smoke and oak. The palate brings vanilla, cinder toffee, creamy texture and BBQ smoke. The finish carries oak, warming spice, green oak, rye bread and cereals.
