Ex-Laphroaig barrel
Lochlea Ploughing Edition is a release in the Second Crop series, in a 70cl bottle. It is the final bottling in that series. The whisky was matured exclusively in ex-Laphroaig barrels that had previously held Laphroaig 10 Year Old. Only fresh Islay barrels were used, rather than quarter casks. The Islay barrels bring a punch of Islay character, which sits alongside the fruit and cereal notes Lochlea is known for.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
