Third Crop is the final release in Lochlea's seasonal trilogy of Ploughing Editions, and the smokiest whisky the distillery has made so far. It was fully matured in ex-Islay barrels and aged for an extra year, then bottled at 46% ABV with natural colour and without chill filtration.
The nose is fresh green apple, sweet toffee and cereal notes. On the palate, vibrant fruit meets savoury smoke and malted biscuits. The finish is long, with coastal sea salt and subtle peat.
