This is the 2026 release of Lochlea Red Wine Cask, a single estate single malt from Ayrshire, where the barley is grown, distilled and matured. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky first matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and was then finished in Sangiovese casks. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The notes describe bright summer berries, strawberry shortcake sweetness and soft vanilla, moving on to spiced biscuits and rich oak.
