Lochlea Sowing Edition First Crop is a single malt from the Lochlea distillery in Ayrshire, and the distillery's second single malt release. It is a spring whisky, inspired by farm life and the season when grain is sown so that it is ready by September. Lochlea grows its own grain and distils and matures on site. The whisky matured in 23 first-fill ex-bourbon casks, filled in September 2018, and was bottled in spring 2022 at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The notes are of green apples, pears and raspberries with buttery shortbread, leading to green, floral flavours in the finish.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
