Lochlea Sowing Edition is a single malt from Lochlea Farm in Ayrshire, Scotland, the farm where Robert Burns lived and worked from 1777 to 1784. It is the first release in the distillery's farm-calendar series and the spring edition, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and bottled non-chill filtered, with natural colour.
Green apple skins, pear drops and custard creams mark the nose, with vanilla and a fresh citrus note. Orchard fruit and hazelnut run through the palate.
