A 32 year old Longmorn from 1992, bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as a single cask from an ex-bourbon hogshead. This is The Antique Fruitique Boutique release, and it is 1 of 141 bottles.
Longmorn's long ferments and eight thick-necked stills give a weighty make that ages well in both ex-sherry and ex-bourbon wood.
The nose is apples, quince jelly, dried mango, cola sweets and pipe tobacco. With a little water it moves towards geranium, apple tobacco, nectarine trifle, gooseberries, dried apricots and toasted coconut.
