First fill sherry butt
This is a 53-year-old Speyside single malt from Longmorn, from 1966, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Private Collection. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a single first fill sherry butt, which gave 398 bottles, and formed part of the 2019 Summer Collection. The nose is intense sweet fruitcake with brown sugar, sticky prunes, candied citrus peel, cinnamon, clove, vanilla and forest fruits, with a delicate oak smoke. The palate is sweet with bursts of pepper, steeped blackberry and cherry, liquorice, dried tobacco and oak. The finish is long, with mulled fruits and charred oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
