Longrow 100 Proof (57.1%)

Longrow 100 Proof is a peated Campbeltown single malt bottled at 100 Proof, which is 57.1%. It was matured in bourbon casks and in Pinot Noir casks from Burgundy in France. The nose combines berry fruit, perhaps blackcurrant, with lightly medicinal smoke. The palate is surprisingly soft and creamy. The smoke turns less briny and medicinal and becomes earthy and woody, alongside caramel, vanilla and roasted almonds. The finish starts fruity, like strawberry gummy sweets with marzipan, before the typical Longrow smoke returns and stays for a long time.
