Longrow Red is a 15 year old Campbeltown single malt from Springbank, bottled at 51.4% in a 70cl bottle.
It spent 11 years in bourbon barrels, followed by 4 years in fresh Pinot Noir barriques from Grant Taylor's Valli vineyards in Central Otago, New Zealand.
The nose has plenty of wine character, fresh and slightly smoky, with red fruit such as cherry and some floral notes. The palate is smooth and sweet, with red grapes, black fruit, oak, nuts and cloves. The finish is long, smoky and tobacco-like, with a little sweet fruit behind.
