This is a Longrow single malt from the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, distilled in June 1996 and bottled in 2009 as a Society Bottling. It matured for 12 years in a refill sherry butt and was bottled at 57.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle, from an outturn of 600 bottles.
The nose has dried apricot, ripe cherry and red apple, with cinnamon, rosemary and toasted oak. The palate brings dark chocolate and raisins, nutmeg and smoky peat undertones, with a creamy texture. The finish is long and warming, with lingering honey sweetness and earthy notes.
