Longrow 21 Year Old is a peated single malt, the oldest whisky in the Longrow core range. It is released each year, with a different maturation every time.
This 2023 limited release is bottled at 46% ABV in a 700 ml bottle, matured in 65% sherry and 35% bourbon casks. Sweet peat smoke and maritime notes run through it.
The nose opens with a savoury note, hints of hazelnut and blackcurrant. On the palate it is syrupy and sweet yet delicate, with fizzy cola bottles and cigar box smoke. The finish is typical Longrow, recalling shingle beaches, flint and seaweed.
