Longrow 21 Year Old is a peated Campbeltown single malt from Springbank Distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is double-distilled from barley dried entirely over peat, and it is the oldest bottling in the Longrow core range.
The expression is released each year with a different maturation. This edition was matured in a mix of 30% bourbon, 60% sherry and 10% chardonnay casks.
On the nose, soft peat suggests smoked mussels and cured meats, with apricot and peach. The palate brings robust coastal peat, seaweed, samphire and soft ripe berries. The finish is delicate and creamy, with raspberries, caramelised butter, cranachan and lingering peat smoke.
