Longrow Peated Cask Strength Batch No. 2 (75cl, 57%)

This is the second batch of Longrow Peated Cask Strength, a heavily peated Campbeltown single malt made at Springbank Distillery. It is double distilled, matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks, and bottled without dilution at 57% ABV (114 proof) without chill filtration. Longrow uses the same direct-fired stills and Campbeltown spring water as Springbank, but with heavily peated malt. The nose brings campfire smoke, brine, lemon oil, green apple and charred oak. On the palate it is bold and oily, with smoked meat, black pepper, barley sugar and dried seaweed. The finish is long and smoky, with ash, toasted spice and a coastal saltiness.
