Lost Irish Whiskey is a triple-distilled blended Irish whiskey, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It combines grain, malt and pot still whiskey, matured in seven types of cask: South African brandy, Japanese Mizunara oak, European sherry, American bourbon, Caribbean rum, Australian tawny and Colombian rum. It was created by Neil Sands and Tim Herlihy of Termonfeckin, Ireland, and launched in November 2021.
The nose brings peach, melon and orange zest, then malt, vanilla and gentle baking spices. The palate has apple, dried fruit, cinnamon, raisins, honey and nutty nougat, with a drier, tea-like centre. The finish is clean and crisp, of moderate length, with a hint of incense and some spice.
