Lough Ree – Bart's Blended Irish Whiskey (70cl)

Bart's is the first blended release from Lough Ree Distillery, in a 70cl bottle. It combines grain, pot still and peated malt whiskeys with malt whiskeys finished in rye and oloroso casks, and can be served on the rocks, in a highball or in cocktails. It is named after Bart Clancy, father of the founders Peter, Sheila and Mike, who had a passion and talent for mending clocks. Each whiskey in the blend has a defined role, much like the parts of a clock. The nose is charred orange peel, toasted marshmallow, kiwi, sliced pear and cinnamon. The palate brings red fruit like summer pudding, then dry spice from the rye, closing with clove rock and crème brûlée. The finish is long and spicy, drying with wisps of smoke.
