Louis Roederer Collection 246 is a Brut champagne built mainly on the 2021 harvest, the 246th made by the house. That year provides 55% of the blend, with 10% from oak-aged reserve wines from 2012 to 2017 and 35% from a perpetual reserve begun in 2012. The blend is 54% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 11% Pinot Meunier, drawn from the Vallée de la Marne, Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs. It is aged on the bottle for at least three years, with a dosage of 7 g/l, and 24% is vinified in French foudres.
The nose shows ripe yellow fruit, including mirabelles, plums and nectarines, with a fresh touch of citrus and light oak. The palate is creamy, with exotic fruit, peach and fine floral notes. Toasted bread appears on the finish, ending fresh, lightly salty and mineral.
