Lucky Seven The Hold Up 9 Year Old Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

Lucky Seven The Hold Up is a nine-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 50% (100 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It was aged in new American oak and bottled at the Bardstown Bourbon Company. The mashbill is 74% corn, 18% rye and 8% malted barley. Master Blender Ashley Barnes samples each barrel individually and plots it on a sensory matrix, so that barrels with complementary flavours are blended together. The nose offers caramel, vanilla, grilled peach and plum, with toasted oak, nougat and cinnamon. On the palate, caramel and dark fruit give way to cinnamon, clove and black pepper from the rye, then molasses, roasted nuts and brown sugar. The finish is long, with fruit, vanilla and caramel.
