Lucky Seven The Workhorse is a blended Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 48.5% ABV (97 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
Its mashbill is 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley. Master Blender Ashley Barnes samples every barrel and plots its flavour on a sensory grid, then blends complementary barrels together.
The nose is sweet corn, warm vanilla, poached pear and a thread of tobacco. The palate offers caramel and toasted pecans, then rye spice and toasted oak. The finish is medium, with vanilla, baking spice, gentle oak and a peppery warmth.
