Mac-Talla Mara is a young Islay single malt, bottled at 58.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled at one of the island's best-known distilleries and is described as peaty and spirit driven.
The nose opens with a hint of citrus, then sea spray, iodine, seaweed, Bakewell tart and spicy fennel. On the palate there are coastal notes from the start, with tobacco leaf, sweet oak, smouldering embers, vanilla, golden honey and salted caramel. Smoked meat and a delicate roasted pepper lead into a warming, full-bodied finish.
