A Macallan 12 Year Old from the mid-1980s, in a large 1.13 litre bottle with a screw top and carton. It is a single malt matured in sherry oak, bottled at 43% ABV.
Macallan took over its own bottlings from Campbell, Hope & King in 1980, inheriting 8 and 12 year old age statements and soon adding a 10 year old. The 12 year old became the firm favourite and is now part of the Sherry Oak Cask line of the core range.
Early 1980s bottlings were labelled Macallan-Glenlivet, later changed to The Macallan Distillers Ltd.
