Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak is a single malt from the Easter Elchies estate in Speyside, Scotland. It is matured for twelve years in sherry-seasoned oak and bottled at 110 proof, which is 55% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is deep amber in colour.
The nose has sticky dates, cherry compote and cinnamon, with dried orange and cacao. The palate brings rich oak, sultanas and stem ginger, with star anise, mandarin zest and treacle, and the finish is long, sweet and cinnamon-led.
