Macallan 12 Years Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, matured for at least twelve years in two kinds of oak: American and European. Both types of cask were seasoned with sherry in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. The distillery states that all of the colour comes naturally from the casks.
The nose offers toffee, candied orange and lemon, vanilla and gentle spice. The palate brings chocolate-covered raisins and cream toffee, with orange peel and a little spice. The finish is medium in length, with sweet oak.
