Macallan 1979 18 Year Old Gran Reserva is a Speyside single malt, distilled in 1979 and bottled in 1997 at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in sherry wood casks.
The nose has dried apricot and fig with gentle spice. The palate is balanced sherry sweetness with a touch of dark chocolate underneath, and the finish is long, ending on soft, spiced oak.
