This is a Macallan Gran Reserva, an 18 year old Speyside single malt distilled in 1981 and bottled in 1999. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle and comes in its own case.
The whisky was matured in sherry wood casks.
The nose is typically described as dried apricot and fig with subtle spice. The palate has balanced sherry sweetness with a touch of dark chocolate, and the finish is extended, ending in soft, spiced oak.
