This is a 30-year-old Macallan from Speyside, distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2020 by Scottish Gantry for its David Boyd Private Cask Series. It was finished in a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask and is bottled at 46.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with 220 bottles produced.
On the nose it is typically described as ripe plums, dried apricots and blackberries, with cinnamon, clove and aged oak. The palate brings dark chocolate, figs, toasted almonds and honey with a smooth, buttery texture, and the long finish carries sweet sherry, spiced fruit, nutmeg and fruitcake.
