This is a Macallan single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2010 as part of the Easter Elchies Cask Selection. It matured for 13 years in a sherry butt and comes from a run of 240 bottles at 52.3% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers dried figs, sultanas and ripe berries with cinnamon, cloves and toasted oak. On the palate there is dark chocolate, sweet raisins, baked orange zest and nutmeg, with a creamy texture. The finish is long, with spicy oak and a wisp of smoke.
