This Macallan was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2010 from a single sherry butt, after 13 years of maturation. It is part of the Easter Elchies Cask Selection, bottled at 52.3% in a 70cl bottle, with about 600 bottles produced.
Red apple, ripe cherries and dried apricots lead the nose, with cinnamon, nutmeg and polished oak. On the palate are honeyed figs, dark chocolate, ginger and vanilla with a creamy texture. The finish is long and warming, with clove, toasted almond and a little spice and oak.
