The Macallan 1997 Easter Elchies 2011 is a single cask Speyside single malt, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2011 at 14 years old. It was matured in a sherry butt and bottled at cask strength, 59.7% ABV, with 550 bottles produced.
The nose combines dried apricot, red currants and figs with cinnamon, clove and polished oak. Dark chocolate and roasted nuts lead the palate, with toffee, herbal tea and an oily texture. The finish is warm, with vanilla and gentle smoky wood spice.
