Macallan – 30 Year Old - Sherry Oak - 2018 is a single malt whisky from Macallan (Speyside). Aged 30 years, bottled at 43% ABV, 70cl. This 2018 release from The Macallan is aged exclusively in Oloroso sherry seasoned casks from Jerez for all thirty years of its maturation. Resultingly, it is said to have a beautiful Oloroso sherry presence after this extended ageing. It is a naturally dark, Speyside single malt full of rich dried fruits, spice and wood smoke. An interesting fact about The Macallan's curiously small spirit stills is that they are the smallest in Speyside. They have this unique size and shape to give the spirit maximum surface area contact with the copper. This, in turn, helps to concentrate on the 'new make' spirit. It will provide the viscosity and rich, fruity, full-bodied flavours so characteristic of The Macallan. PLEASE NOTE: The wax rosette on these bottles are fragile by age/design and as such are not insured in transit. Therefore, as stated in our T&C's, we do not and will not accept liability should the rosette be breached, broken, split or cracked in transit.
