This is a Macallan single malt from the 1990 vintage, aged for 31 years and bottled at 42.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The palate shows the influence of a sherry cask finish, which brings dark fruit to the front.
The nose is smooth and rich, with deep fruits, spices, sweet toasted oak, creamy vanilla and soft caramel, alongside balanced chocolate and summer fruits. The palate opens very rich, with dark fruits, dates, red grapes, damsons and soft figs, then brandy snaps, honey-glazed iced fruit buns and candied banana. Soft orange citrus follows, with ripe plums and spices.
