This is a Macallan 40 Year Old released in 2005 for travel retail, in a 70cl bottle at 43%. It matured for four decades entirely in hand-crafted European sherry oak casks from Spain, and only 450 bottles were released worldwide.
Its profile is described as intense and complex, with rich dried fruits, antique oak and dark chocolate, and it ends in a lingering, spiced finish.
