Macallan – Amber Ernie Button (70cl, 40%)

A Macallan Amber from the 1824 Series, in a 70cl bottle at 40% and matured in sherry oak casks from Jerez, Spain. This is the Ernie Button edition, part of the Masters of Photography collection, which draws on the Arizona photographer's images of the colours and patterns a pour leaves at the bottom of a glass. The edition was released in 800 bottles, each with a stopper of solid oak and rhodium topped with an Ernie Button print. The nose is floral and citrus-sweet, with vanilla over fresh grain, then raisins, sultanas and cinnamon alongside toffee apple and candyfloss. On the palate come green apple, lemon, cinnamon and ginger, with soft oak in the background. The finish is light to medium and slightly dry.
