This is the fourth edition of the Classic Cut series from Macallan, a single malt bottled at 55% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and in sherry casks, the first for a sweet lightness and the second for depth.
The nose combines vanilla, candied orange zest, honey, sweet sultanas and raisins, fresh oak and thyme. On the palate there are ginger, sweet orange, vanilla, honey and oak. The finish starts sweet and then turns to lasting fresh thyme.
