Macallan Double Cask 18 Years Old is a single malt matured for 18 years in a combination of European and American oak casks that previously held sherry. The casks are prepared with dry Oloroso sherry.
The whiskies from the two types of oak are blended at the end of maturation. American oak is described as adding delicate vanilla, citrus and butterscotch, while European oak brings a spiced complexity.
The result is a soft, warming and well-balanced single malt.
