Macallan Edition No.5 is a Speyside single malt released in 2019, created in collaboration with the Pantone Colour Institute. It comes in packaging in a bespoke shade of purple, and is bottled at 48.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in oak casks.
The nose offers rich pear, ripe peach, citrus zest, nutmeg and ginger, with warm oak. On the palate, caramel leads, with poached peach, juicy pear, light oak spice, a hint of lemon basil and a creamy texture. The finish is long and sweet, with caramel and gentle oak spice.
