Macallan – Harmony Collection Guardian Oak (70cl, 44.2%)

Macallan Harmony Collection Guardian Oak is a single malt Scotch whisky made for airport sale, bottled at 44.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was created in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil and its SPIRIT show, a nature-inspired performance that premiered at the distillery in November. The whisky is matured in first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak casks together with refill sherry casks, chosen for the dried fruit and sweet spice character that European oak gives. Oak chippings left over from making Macallan's casks have been reused in the presentation box and labels. The colour is mature acorn. The nose offers dried dates, figs and raisins with orange peel and dark chocolate, and the palate is sweet with ginger syrup and orange. The finish is long, with oak and star anise.
