Vibrant Oak is a Speyside single malt from Macallan's Harmony Collection, bottled at 44.2% ABV. It marks the distillery's 200th anniversary and was made in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, with the role of wood in a whisky's character as its theme.
It matured mainly in sherry seasoned American oak casks and is of natural colour. The packaging is made from oak shavings left over from cask making.
The nose offers vanilla, ripe pear, sponge and lime zest. On the palate come panna cotta, shortbread and toasted coconut, with almond, apple and sweet oak. The finish brings runny honey and a trace of vanilla.
