The Macallan Oscuro is part of The 1824 Series, a single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside in a 70cl bottle. It includes distillates from the 1987 and 1997 vintages, and the influence of sherry casks shows in its dark red-brown mahogany colour.
The nose brings dried fruits, berries, oak and vanilla sweetness, with jam, cocoa and spices. The taste follows with malt, chocolate, sherry, biscuits, cinnamon and pepper, and the finish is warming, long and intense with a little smoke.
