This is a Macallan single malt made to mark the wedding of HRH Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. It combines whiskies distilled in 1948 and 1961, the birth years of the couple, and was bottled in 1981 for the US market by Berman Import. It belongs to the Royal Marriage series and is bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The nose brings citrus peel, dried apricot, red berries, cinnamon and sage, with a little oak. The palate is creamy, with caramel, toasted malt, dark chocolate, roasted nuts and a hint of vanilla. The finish is long and warming, with spiced apple and soft peat smoke.
