Macallan – The Harmony Collection Inspired By Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea (70cl, 43.9%)

This is a Speyside single malt from Macallan, part of The Harmony Collection. It takes its inspiration from Phoenix Honey Orchid tea from the tea brand Jing, a complex tea with intense dessert wine aromas and exotic fruit notes. It is bottled at 43.9% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and no chill-filtration. Most of the maturation took place in sherry casks of American oak, which brought out fruity and floral notes. Sherry casks of European oak added balanced toasted notes and a velvety depth, and a small share of ex-bourbon casks rounds the whisky off with gentle sweetness.
