Macallan – The Harmony Collection Vibrant Oak

This is a Macallan single malt from Speyside, released in the Harmony Collection and dedicated to the cask. It matures mainly in hand-picked sherry-seasoned American oak casks. The packaging is made from oak shavings, a by-product of cask making that has been reused as a design feature. The nose offers intense vanilla and ripe pear with the sweetness of sponge cake and a little lime zest. The palate is creamy, with panna cotta, buttery shortbread and toasted coconut, then almond, apple and sweet oak. The finish is balanced, with liquid honey and a faint trace of vanilla.
