This is a Macallan single malt of 12 years old, matured exclusively in sherry wood and bottled in the mid-2000s as the Woodland Estate Limited Edition. Only 1000 bottles were released, at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The name looks to the link between the Macallan spirit and the oak casks that shape it. In recognition of that bond, one thousand trees were planted on the distillery estate in 2005.
