This is a 56 year old Glen Grant single malt, distilled in 1965 and bottled by Elixir Distillers in a 70cl bottle. It is the first of five malts in the Macbeth series, each chosen to portray a character from the play. This one stands for King Duncan. The series draws on character profiles written by Dave Broom, with illustrations by Sir Quentin Blake. The nose is deep and resinous, with leather-bound books, old Armagnac, walnut liqueur, cocoa and dried fruit. On the palate there is oak, rosewood, polish, oloroso sherry, black tea and fallen leaves, with plums and burnt orange emerging later. The finish is long and drying, with leather, tea leaves and dried fruit.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
