Macbeth Menteith is a 31 year old Speyside single malt from Benriach, bottled at 53.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is one of twelve malts in the Thanes series and one of three in the first act of the Macbeth collection, inspired by the Scottish play. The label illustration is by Sir Quentin Blake.
Elixir Distillers' head blender, Oliver Chilton, chose the malt for this edition, which matured in first-class bourbon casks. Only 650 bottles were released.
It is described as a classic fruit-led, floral Benriach, with rich caramel and ash from the casks.
