Lum Reek is a 10 year old blended malt Scotch whisky from Macnair's, put together by master blender Billy Walker. It combines Highland, Speyside and Islay single malts with aged GlenAllachie, aiming for a balance of peat and rich, fruity character. The name comes from the Scottish toast "Lang may yer lum reek".
The whisky was matured in Spanish sherry casks, wine barriques and virgin oak casks. Batch 1 is bottled at natural cask strength of 55.4% ABV, with no colour added and without chill filtration.
The nose offers smoke, heather honey and ginger with cinnamon, treacle and vanilla. The palate brings dark chocolate, ginger and citrus, alongside smoked spices, plantain and tannins.
