MacNair's Lum Reek 12 Year Old Peated is a blended malt first released in 2021, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Billy Walker created it by combining Islay and Speyside malts with Glenallachie whisky.
The blend is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, PX sherry casks and former red wine casks. It is bottled without colouring or chill-filtration. The name comes from the Scots expression "Lang may yer lum reek", a wish for a long life.
The nose brings butterscotch, cocoa and peat. On the palate there is heather, toffee and peat smoke, with sweet spice and liquorice.
